if i were to take a macro shot of my negatives, how would i go about doing that?

Momentarily inspired and then for everafter clinging to the brief and fleeting memory of vivid inspiration.
I use a light table to see the negatives, and to take a macro shot, I change the White Balances of my digital camera pointing on a clear area of a negative. With this setting, I tell to my camera what color is white.
Later, in Photoshop you have to invert the color, adjust the levels and make a lens correction because the photo has some distortion because of the lens... (Filters - Distortion - Lens Correction)
